First Project: Cambodia

In partnership with Hope for the Nations, Purified Water Store has sent their first shipment of water purification chemicals to Cambodia. The Cambodian Hope Organization has set up a community they refer to as the “Safe-Haven” that houses, feeds, educates and trains children and single mothers who have become targets of the sex-trade industry. Additionally, “Safe Homes” have been set-up in various towns near Poipet that serve to house a few children, keep a watch eye and train the community regarding the tactics of child-trafficking predators. Hope for the Nations works within Canada to connect individuals and business to various global projects helping children-at-risk.

One of the seven main goals of the Safe Haven communities is to provide clean water and sanitation. Everyday children and mothers become sick (some even to the point of death) from the viruses and bacteria in the water.

In 2011, Purified Water Store sent purification supplies to the Safe Haven village. There was enough chemicals supplied to purify over 12,000 litres of water. Thank you to Advance Chemicals for partnering in this endeavour. We are pleased with this first step taken towards our vision of revitalizing global communities with clean and healthy water, yet we are burdened to do much more.
